HTF Market Structure
Multi-timeframe Break of Structure and Change of Character detection with structural bias table.
Overview
The HTF Market Structure indicator identifies two critical ICT trading events:
- Break of Structure (BOS) — Price breaks through a swing high or low aligned with the prevailing trend, confirming continuation
- Change of Character (CHoCH) — Price breaks a swing against the trend direction, potentially signaling reversal
The indicator displays labels directly on price action and includes a multi-timeframe structure table showing market state (Bullish, Bearish, or None) across Weekly, Daily, 4H, 1H, 15m, and 5m timeframes.
Optional candle coloring reflects the most recent CHoCH direction for instant structural bias visibility.
Settings
Lookback — Integer, minimum 3 (default: 3) Bars used for identifying swing highs and lows. Lower values (3–5) catch faster timeframe structures; higher values (8–15) require more significant swings and reduce noise.
Show BOS — Toggle (default: on) Displays lines and labels when price breaks swings aligned with trend direction.
Show CHoCH — Toggle (default: on) Displays lines and labels when price breaks swings against prevailing trend.
Color Candles after CHoCH — Toggle (default: on) Colors candles based on most recent CHoCH direction for persistent bias indication.
Bullish Candles — Color picker (default: teal #089981) Color for candles following bullish CHoCH events.
Bearish Candles — Color picker (default: red #f23645) Color for candles following bearish CHoCH events.

How We Use It
This is our timeframe alignment tool. Before entering any trade, we check the structure table:
- Alignment across Weekly, Daily, and 4H indicates clear directional bias — we trade with confidence
- Disagreement between timeframes prompts waiting or reduced position sizing
- Short-term CHoCH signals on 1m and 5m charts confirm entry timing following liquidity sweeps
Use the candle coloring feature to maintain awareness of the current structural bias without constantly checking the table. After a CHoCH, candles stay colored until the next structural shift.
